"My husband and I could not have gotten any luckier getting introduced to Cathy Friedman. We hit the jackpot! Our sister-in-law's friend recommended her, and we then proceeded with an in-person interview. She was smart, knowledgeable, polite and eager to help. Our baby is now 3 months old and we are still using her! She is extremely wonderful and easy to be around--definitely someone you don't mind having in your home everyday or evening. She is strict and rigid in terms of getting the baby on a proper and consistent schedule. She not only takes wonderful care of our baby, but she is extremely helpful around the house (i.e. helping with laundry, dishes, etc...). She is also excellent at and very mindful about taking care of new mothers by making sure they are eating well, getting enough rest and getting on a good feeding/nursing schedule. Cathy has become part of our nightly routine and our family. I have already recommened her to friends and family members! Best doula, night nanny, daytime nanny and newborn coach out there!!!"
Jill:
"We used Cathy as a postpartum doula for both overnight and day-time work. I recommend her enthusiastically and without any reservation. Cathy is a warm, caring presence, a fantastic listener, and amazingly helpful. She was soothing and sweet with our newborn, and she engaged our older daughter at every opportunity. Not only did she do baby care, but she helped keep our house running -- doing everything from laundry to meal prep. Because of Cathy, we were able to survive the first few difficult months of caring for a newborn. She offered suggestions, but she was never intrusive. She did everything asked and more. Cathy is an amazing doula and an amazing person! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her."
Jon:
"My partner and I were so appreciative for Cathy's expertise. She made suggestions that we found helpful and always arrived on time and chipper. We couldn't have gotten through the toughest of nights without her!"
Maggie:
"We have been very fortunate to have an amazing postpartum doula, Cathy Friedman, care for our newborn daughter since the day she came home from the hospital. Over the past 4 months, Cathy has helped us with both overnights (8pm-6am, so we were able to get a few hours of much needed sleep) and daytime coverage (6am-1pm, since I had to work from home during most of my "maternity leave").
It's difficult to put into only a few words how much we love and value our relationship with Cathy...but I'll try anyway: she's been such an incredible support to our family during the life changing / challenging experience of bringing home a baby. Cathy has done everything from providing loving care for our daughter, to preparing healthy snacks (so that I actually eat something before 5pm), and even helped us maintain order around the house (makes the bed, family laundry, etc). Not to mention that she's incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to questions about our baby's health, my health, my sanity, baby products/gear, etc.
Cathy always brings a positive attitude into our home, which seems like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference on days when it doesn't seem like there's a light at the end of the tunnel of diaper changes, crying, more diaper changes...
I'd be more than happy to provide additional background on our experience over a reference call. Feel free to contact Cathy and she'll put us in touch!"
Logan:
"Cathy helps us tremendously in caring for our newborn triplets. We feel very lucky to have found her. It is so nice to take a break for ourselves and know that we have someone skilled & caring looking after our 3 babies. We don't know How she manages to take care of the 3 babies and leave us undisturbed (in a two bedroom apartment!) - my husband & I have trouble managing between the two of us! Cathy has not only helped with everyday care of the babies (feeding, bathing, etc), she has also come to a few doctors appointments with me when my husband has been unavailable - this has been a huge help as it is so difficult to lug everything out of the car & manage all the babies needs in a public office.
I want to mention Cathy's upbeat personality & interest in learning and sharing her knowledge. Cathy is consistently energetic & positive. She takes the time to understand what our preferences are for our babies - I feel very comfortable knowing she's carrying over our routine. But I also appreciate that because of her experience, Cathy is able to politely offer advice & pointers without being pushy. My husband & I highly recommend Cathy's services as a doula (as long as we don't lose her!)."
Twyla:
"Cathy has been a wonderful help to me and my family. Shortly after the 2013 holidays, we welcomed our second son home, and Cathy’s help with baby care, household management, and my overall mental wellbeing has been invaluable!! Cathy is a treasure; her positive energy, flexibility and willingness to help out with the little things made our transition to a family of four a very enjoyable time! Not only was I able to get much needed rest while Cathy was taking care of the newborn, but I also enjoyed having one-on-one time to play with my toddler. Her attention to the details was particularly helpful and appreciated: there’s nothing like climbing into a freshly made bed, or seeing all the clothes laundered and dishes put away! Cathy showed me how to take care of myself in the midst of taking care of two children, and I’m so thankful for her love and care! I can’t recommend her enough!"
Sheera:
"I contacted Cathy after seeing her profile and recent testimonials to help me care for my newborn (5 wk old) twins while visiting my parents home in the Greater Boston Area. Cathy came in full of energy and warmth. She got involved right away, offering to hold one of the twins and asking how she can help me. In the week that she worked with us, Cathy became a friend--sensitive to my children, offered lots of helpful tips for helping me care for my newborns, taught me how to bathe my kids, establish a bedtime routine, and watched the kids when I needed to take care of some work, or take a shower. I loved when she talked out scenarios with me, and we brainstormed how I would handle different everyday situations on my own-- I have so much more confidence in myself as a new mom than I did at the start of the week. If iIever need help again when I come back home, I hope Cathy is available--and have already recommended her to friends!"
Alissa:
"Cathy Friedman helped me out in a time that I needed her the most. She is very warm, nurturing and courteous. Anything that I needed to have done, she did. I didn't even have to ask half the time, it was already done for me. My baby girl really took to her and was very comfortable with her. I was able to do things that needed to get done inside and outside the home. Cathy had everything under control. I would leave my baby with her and not even think twice about it. I knew that she was in good hands.
I would highly recommend Cathy as a Doula for any new mom. I would consider her a huge asset to anyone's household. There are still times that I wish that she could just live here!
I hope this helps anyone who is looking for their perfect doula."
Franny:
"Cathy was absolutely a dream come true. I've never met someone as capable of multi-tasking as Cathy! She was able to accomplish things while I slept that I didn't even know needed to be done. Cathy was an amazing caretaker, homemaker, helper, decorator, shopper, and even gym daycare. She is amazing at everything she sets her mind to and I feel very lucky to have found her for post-partum support."
Janel:
"We have a 2.5 year old toddler and 11 week old twins and so look forward to the nights Cathy comes over! She needs no direction and is up for any task - bathing the twins, laundry, dishes, and always leaves our home looking neater than before she arrived. We feel so comfortable having her in our house with our newborns. She gives us detailed reports after each night and stays in touch even on days she's not with us. She gives us tips and ideas for getting the twins to sleep that are very helpful. She has a wonderful, calm and friendly personality - we wish we could have her every night forever! "
Sarah:
"Cathy is truely an amazing person and was fabulous to work with. I used Cathy when I came home with my third daughter and could not have been happier. Cathy has the unique ability to identify when and where she can be helpful to make bringing home a new baby a smooth transition. She not only took excellent care of our newborn daughter, she was working hard overnight to keep our busy household running while we were asleep. Things that she did for us included dishes, laundry, cleaning up the kitchen organization, bottle cleaning ect. She quickly became a trusted part of our family and was essential as we transitioned from two kids to three. If Cathy would do it, I would have hired her to be our full-time nanny, but I know that she loves her work with newborns and post-partum mothers! I would highly recommend Cathy to any family looking for newborn night help- she is one of the most hard-working, self-starting, trustworthy, organized and loving people I have come accross in the chlildcare world."
Michelle:
" Cathy is beyond fantastic. We used her for both day and overnight assistance after the births of both of our sons. As someone who is reluctant to accept help, Cathy made it easy in that she anticipated both my sons and my own needs as a new and repeat mom. From simple things to bringing me fresh water in the middle night while I pumped or breastfed, making my bed so that I felt like I was at a fancy hotel, to bigger things like offering excellent tips on sleep training, breast feeding and strategies for giving a baby good habits--she goes above and beyond. I would describe her as the mother/aunt you always wanted, but without any of the family drama! She truly felt like part of the family and I trust her and her judgement completely. She had a wealth of knowledge about babies and everything that comes with being a new mom, but was never pushy. She's someone you feel like you've known forever. I really can't say enough great things about her. I only wish she could stay with us forever! She has a bubbly and easy going personality with boundless energy and instantly can read mom's and babies to know exactly what they need. I'm so thankful we had he opportunity to have her assistance and if I ever have another child, she's the first call we will make!"

"We had the pleasure of working with Cathy for my second child. My son was fussy starting around week 3 and Cathy was such a huge support for me and my son. She was always doing research, reaching out to friends and trying to find what we could do to make my son as comfortable as possible. We found out that he had reflux and a milk intolerance and after switching to a prescription formula he was a "new baby". Cathy was willing to do anything around the house and working with her for a 2 months it feels like she is a part of our family. I would highly recommend her and feel fortunate that my son got to spend the time with her and I know that she will continue to be in touch with my family."
Emily:
"I can't say enough about Cathy and how much she helped us after the birth of our first child. For starters, she is incredibly reliable, never showing up even a minute late (in fact, she usually came early to see what she could help with to make our lives easier). She was always in touch and easy to get a hold of even on her off hours, always checking in to see how I was doing and making sure i was getting enough rest. She would ask daily if she could run any errands for me before she came to the house for the night so I would not have to go out.
Once she arrived, it was evident she is a true BABY EXPERT and, as I like to say, was essentially like having a "private tutor" to help coach me through the first few weeks of motherhood. She helped with EVERYTHING: breastfeeding and pumping, baby care and bathing, diaper changing, swaddling and even helped to sleep train my baby! My baby adored her from the start and so did we!
Not only does she help with baby, but she also takes care of Mom and Dad. My house was kept exceptionally clean, laundry was always washed and folded, dishes done, breast milk organized and labeled and snacks were even prepared to keep me fed. She always had ice water for me to keep me hydrated, and while I was sleeping, she was washing my breast pump parts, cleaning the kitchen, or doing the laundry. This all kept my life incredibly peaceful and allowed me to focus on my beautiful son instead of household chores.
Cathy is a true professional but was also a great confidant and friend during those first few weeks (and beyond-- we are in touch and continue to share pictures and messages regularly!). I trusted her fully with my son and slept better (the few hours new Moms get to sleep) knowing that she was caring for him and watching over him. I honestly can say I dont' think I would have had such an amazing first few months without having her my life and know my husband agrees wholeheartedly. THANK YOU, CATHY!"
Sara:
"Cathy has a warm, energetic personality which is appreciated by sleep-deprived new parents and newborns. Right from the beginning, she worked hard to get our baby on a schedule which was very important to us. She gave great advice and was very responsive when we had questions. We looked forward to the nights that Cathy was with us since we knew our baby was in good hands and we were able to get uninterrupted sleep. I would highly recommend working with Cathy. She is amazing!"
Lily:
"I cannot say enough good things about Cathy. I hired her when I was struggling to manage a 5-week who didn't sleep at night with two older children at home. She transformed my post-partum experience with her positive attitude, extensive experience, kindness, and her love of babies and families. She slid right into our family dynamic and got the whole familiy into a great rhythm with our baby from the moment she walked in the door. Our time with her was easy (and FUN!), and I felt 100% at ease with her and with her care of the baby. I would be happy to talk to any families considering working with Cathy. You won't regret it!"
