Doula means . . .
Most people associate Doula with delivery help. There is another aspect of Doula-ing (I just made that up), a postpartum Doula , AKA , me! A Postpartum Doula or PPD offers non medical support to women after labor. A PPD provides a broad range of postpartum support, baby care and education to the new Mom, Dad and family.
Why hire a PPD?
The postpartum period is a time of recovery and transition for a new mother. Surrounding her with emotional support, attending to her physical needs, caring for her baby, family and home, a PPD allows a new Mom time and space to rest and recover from the birthing process.
